Workshop on Inelastic Neutron Scattering Spectrina 2016

23 - 24 June 2016  Orlova Roscha, Gatchina, Leningrad district, PNPI conference hall

Workshop on Inelastic Neutron Scattering SPECTRINA 2016 is a meeting devoted to investigations of dynamics of the matter by the methods of inelastic neutron scattering. The scope of the workshop covers a wide range of topical issues related to the investigations of lattice dynamics and magnetic excitations in condensed matter. Scientific activity in these directions represent the cutting edge of modern condensed matter physics. Materials of SPECTRINA are expected to become a guideline for the development of a scientific program as well as inelastic neutron instrumentation at new reactor PIK.

Scientific scope:

The workshop will feature talks on the following topical areas:

1. Research methods of inelastic scattering and achievements in condensed matter physics and in materials science;

2. Three-axis spectroscopy;

3. Neutron time-of-flight spectroscopy;

4. Spin-echo spectroscopy;

5. The combined use of neutron and synchrotron radiation to study the dynamics of excitations;

6. Instrumentation for neutron spectroscopy at neutron sources in Russia.

Venue:

Orlova Roscha, Gatchina, Leningrad district, building #7, PNPI main conference hall

Organizers:

The workshop is organized and hosted by B.P. Konstantinov Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" (PNPI NRC KI).

As part of the EU project CREMLIN

The workshop is a part of EU project CREMLIN Educational program of Work package 4 and is directly associated with the creation of the PIK instrumentation concept in the field of spectroscopy.
