About the Workshop
Attention! Workshop dates changed: September 6-10, 2021.
Dear colleagues! Due to the current unfavorable epidemiological situation in the world, the International Workshop on Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction and Exotic Spin Structures (DMI-2021) is supposed to be held in a hybrid format: online and offline (Vyborg, Russia), from the 6th to the 10th of September 2021.
Igor Dzyaloshinskii passed away on July 14, 2021.
Igor Dzyaloshinskii, made pioneering and groundbreaking contributions to areas that span an entire field of condensed matter physics including liquid crystals, low-dimensional superconductivity, van der Waals forces, quantum solids, quantum liquids, and methods of many-body quantum theory. His name is immortalized in the theory of magnetism, the field of multiferroics and Luttinger-liquids.
In connection with the newly emerging exacerbation of the epidemiological situation and introducing restrictions in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, we ask everyone who plans to attend the DMI-2021 in person to take a vaccination course in advance and Bring a CERTIFICATE with you (in paper or electronic form) or REFERENCE if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19, or a negative PCR test done no later than 72 hours before the event.
Take care of yourself and others!
This Workshop was organized in memory of Sergey Maleyev (06/03/1931 - 02/20/2021), who did not live to see his 90th birthday. Sergey Vladimirovich was an active participant in all five previous meetings and we would like to devote this VI International Meeting DMI-2021 to his scientific activities and research in the field of chiral magnetism using polarized neutrons. We hope that his friends and students, taking this opportunity, will take an active part in the meeting, and thus honor the memory of the great Soviet and Russian scientist.
The VI International Workshop DMI 2021, hosted by B.P. Konstantinov Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute (PNPI), follows five previous meetings held in Saint Petersburg (2011), Veliky Novgorod (2013), Pskov (2015), Peterhof (2017) and Petrozavodsk (2019).
DMI 2021 is intended for researchers working in the field of the structural and magnetic properties of noncentrosymmetric crystals and artificial nanostructures. The objective of the workshop is to serve as a platform for scientific discussion and exchange of ideas among the scientists willing to share their research findings as well as to review and discuss the recent progress, developments and advances in DMI and chiral magnetism.
